Assignment 4: Interesting career-related topics

Hello! What a cold day, no?. Anyway I hope it continues raining to decontaminate this polluted city!

Well, my thursday assignment is related to a subject or topic that I had learn in my three years estuding occupational therapy.

One subject that is very interesting to my is psychiatry area. It might be because I find so difficult to understand a psychiatry disorder, also is so complex but exciting at the same time.
The last year we had a subject called adult´s psychopathology and it was very useful to me, because my mom suffer from bipolar disorder so I understood her disease better. Also in second semester we made our practice in "El Peral" working with addicted people and I find it really exciting! as if that wasn't enough we get the best score of all our classmate, proving to me that we make a really good job!

Other thing that I would like to know more is about psychiatrics disorder in childrens and I´m so lucky, because this year we have a subject call "children´s psychopathology". Till now is more complex and interesting try to understand a disorder in a child than an adult. I think it´s because the appareance of a psuchiatric disorder in a kid is very related to functionality of the family so as occupational therapist we must work with all the enviroment but more than anything with child´s family.

Assignment 1: English songs

I was reviewing ksenia blogspot and I discovered that I haven´t done a assignment so now that I have time I will do it!

What is an English song that you like?

Actually I love many english song, but one that I really love is Sea of Love by the Honeydrippers. More than the contained I love the instrumental scort and all the memories that brings me back because my father always listened and I imagine my parents relationship.

Assignment 3: My weekend

What exciting things did you do this past weekend?

Interesting question, really I didn`t do many things. I sleep a lot and put in order my closet becuse it was a real mess!

Also I went out with my school partners to Melody´s disco. There was a hip-hop party and I had a really nice time because I danced a lot and I love to dance. The most exciting and terrible thing was that Melissa (universitiy partner of my best friend francisca) had a problem with a disgusting fatmen and some friends figthed whit him! Thank goodness this nasty person went home and we had no more trouble (like Bob Marley´s song, jajaja)

That´s all my weekend I hope this came more exciting and pacific

Assignment 2: Recommended websites in my area

Hello everyone!, How has been your life?

Well, Ksenia ask us to answer the following questions: How did you become interested in your area of study? and What motivates you to continue learning about your career?

Actually, the reason that I became an Ocupational Therapy student was that my cousin told me wonderful things of this career and now I know that she was true...
I loved the idea that in this career teach you a lot of things from Anatomy to carpenter's workshop passing for Math, Fisic, Creativity, Ocupational Cience and many others subjects. The knowledge mixture was the thing that I enjoy most becuse you became into a complete professional and person.
Also, and answering the second question, in this career you learn new things every day because first you work with people and theirs environmets and it changes every day. So you must to adapt your intervention and develop new habilities constantly making my profession dinamic and exciting.
Another thing that motivates me is that here in Chile, Ocupational Therapy still is a now profession so you have a lot of field to work.

Be different be an ocupational therapist!
